Measurements Panel

The Measurements Panel shows the measurements which have been made or loaded and information about them, including a thumbnail of the frequency response. The name of the file the measurement was loaded from or has been saved to (if it has been saved) is also shown. Individual measurements are selected by clicking on them.

Measurements can be rearranged by dragging them to a new position in the list, either individually or by selecting multiple measurements by Ctrl+left click or Shift + left click and dragging the group. If the measurement list has focus (blue border around the current selection) keyboard shortcuts to select all (Ctrl+A), cut (Ctrl+X) and paste (Ctrl+V) may also be used. Pasted measurements are placed before the currently selected measurement or, if there is no current selection, at the end of the list.

The background of some measurement types is tinted to help distinguish them.

Collapsed view

The measurement panels can be made narrower to provide more screen area for the graph, click the << button to narrow the panel.

Filtered view

The list of measurements can be filtered to only show some types of measurements or measurements whose names contain the entered text.

Measurement actions

Right clicking on a measurement panel brings up a set of controls to save, remove, change the trace colour, lock or disable the measurement, change the measurement's name, view and edit its notes and apply other actions. The panel also shows the mic/meter and soundcard calibration files that were used (hover the mouse over that text area to bring up a tooltip that shows the full text width). To quickly edit the measurement's name right click over the name area, a text field will be shown to edit the name.

The text box at the top of the right click panel is used to change the name of the measurement. The length of the name is limited to the width of the box. If a blank name is entered, "No Description" is used. The name is shown in blue for new measurements or measurements with unsaved changes.

Disabled measurements are skipped when using the next/previous measurement shortcuts (Alt+up/down and Ctrl+up/down) and are not shown on overlay graphs. All measurements can be re-enabled via the Enable all measurements action or by using the Ctrl+E shortcut. The Ctrl+D shortcut disables the currently selected measurement.

Locked measurements cannot be deleted, the remove action is disabled and a padlock icon is shown on the measurement panel. All measurements can be unlocked via thee Unlock all measurements action or by using the Ctrl+U shortcut. The Ctrl+L shortcut locks the currently selected measurement.

The other actions for each selected measurement are:

• Invert to change the polarity of the measurement
• EQ to open the EQ window with the measurement selected
• Change cal to bring up a dialog to load, update or clear the calibration data files for the mic/meter or soundcard or to select whether a C-weighted SPL meter was used for the measurement. Note that changing the calibration data or C-weighted setting will clear any waterfall, decay or spectrogram plots that have been generated as they would no longer show valid data. Other affected plots will be regenerated using the new cal data.
  
  
  
• Response copy to make a copy that has the same response as the measurement - the copy has the same impulse response and calibration data as the original but does not include distortion data or equaliser settings, for example
• Mic in box corrn to make a measurement that has the SPL data of the source with a correction to compensate for the measurement being made using the microphone in box method, adding an offset of 40*log10(f/f0) where f0 is a nominal reference frequency, which has been set to 50 Hz. The result would usually be merged with a far field measurement.
• Excess phase copy to copy the excess phase response to use in calculations - the copy is the original measurement divided by a minimum phase version of the measurement
• Min phase copy to make a copy of the minimum phase response to use in calculations - the copy has a minimum phase impulse response and the same magnitude response and calibration data as the original. See Generating minimum phase" for details.
• Magnitude copy to make a copy that has the same magnitude response as the measurement but no impulse response or phase response
• Merge cal to IR makes a copy that has the same response as the measurement but with an impulse response that includes the effect of the measurement's cal files. There might be artefacts in the impulse response if the cal data has large roll-offs. Note that the new measurement will include the distortion data of the original, but the fundamental for that distortion data will remain unchanged.
• Trim IR to windows makes a copy with an impulse response that is shortened to the smallest power of 2 that covers the windowed span, starting at the beginning of the left window. This might be useful for shortening an IR before export or to shorten the IR from an arithmetic result that produces a long IR.

Measurement actions for multiple selections

Right clicking on a measurement panel after multiple measurements have been selected (by Ctrl+left click or Shift+left click) brings up a set of actions to save, remove, lock, unlock, enable, disable, change colour or change cal data for the selected measurements.
